RoboBoat 2024

RoboBoat 2024 was held at the Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Florida, USA, with 16 teams representing six countries — Canada, Indonesia, Mexico, Poland, Turkey, and the United States. This was a record year with all teams passing safety inspection in the first two days and 15 teams qualifying for finals!

Congratulations to all RoboBoat 2024 teams! We look forward to seeing you in 2025!

We are a joint team between Team Inspiration, a community robotics team based in San Diego, California, started in 2011, and the Triton-AI club of University of California, San Diego. We have students ranging from 10th grade to college graduates. Combined, our teams currently participate in FIRST Tech Challenge, RoboBoat, RoboSub, RoboCar, EVGrand Prix, Indy Autonomous Challenge, VRX, and RobotX competitions. Our goal is to be able to learn the most we can about robotics and to spread that knowledge to others.

We are a hard-working, driven team of hardware and software engineers from Cornell University, dedicated to building and innovating in the field of naval architecture and maritime robotics. Our students challenge themselves in a fast-paced work environment, while also making lifelong connections with incredible people. Our goal is to design, manufacture, test, and compete with an autonomous boat capable of decision making and complex path planning using computer vision.

SeaSentinel Programme started in November 2021 as a project in Science Club SimLE. For the past two years we have been developing different concepts and solutions in the field of Autonomous Surface Vehicles. Last year we took part in RoboBoat 2023 and ended up on a 9th place. This year we come to RoboBoat 2024 with a brand new boat: ASV “Rybitwa”. See you on the course 😉

Team AMORE unites two schools for the first time, with Lake Superior State University from Sault Ste Marie, Michigan, and Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida. Although it marks their first joint venture in a competition, the team boasts experience from prior RoboBoat and RobotX competitions, making them a formidable force.

UM::Autonomy is a student-led project team from the University of Michigan. Established in 2007, this is the team’s 16th year of competition in the RoboBoat Competition. We aim to further the study of autonomous robotics and marine vessels at the University of Michigan by providing students with hands-on, multidisciplinary design experience. Each year, we strive to push the physical and conceptual bounds of our ASV.
